Finished shooting a music video for director’s Winston Hacking and Brett Long of Exploding Motor Car for the band Ohbijou and the track “New Years”. We shot over 3 days which included 1 day of main performance and 2 days of shooting miniature set pieces. The video is set in a mystical town where we fly into a volcano to see Casey and Jenny of the band performing.

I shot all the main performance stuff using the newer HPX170 and Redrock M2 Encode rig w/ Nikon primes. Also had a Lensbaby Composer on hand for some shots which is a lot of fun to play with. All the miniature stuff was shot with the stock HPX170. I like the weight and ergonomic on the newer 170 over the HVX200. The added SDI output is great for monitoring needs.

Can’t post too many pics as the guys are still shooting some stop motion stuff for the next few weeks and don’t want to give away too much.

Thanks to Julia Seidman, Camera Assist and Cliff Ramnuth, Gaffer/Grip for their contributions. Super thanks to craft/catering which were amazing all 3 days!
