NEW BLOG!

Wait, is this 2005? No! But we are bringing back the website blog! On a recommendaton from a friend he recommended I add "value" to this website of mine in the hopes of driving more traffic and helping with something called SEO (I don't quite know how that works...). Will anyone read this? Who knows, but maybe it'll be kind of fun. Apparently Reels and shorter format stuff on social is on its way out and people want more in depth meaningful content so maybe this format is due for an epic comeback!

First off, a quick thing about me for all those who are new. My name is Barry, it's nice to meet you! If you're on this site you probably know I'm a Cinematographer! It's a great job that I love very much. It doesn't really feel like a job most of the time. Most of my work are commercials these days but I'd like to get back to a mix of other productions like narrative shorts (tell your friends!).

I love tech and new innovations in gear. I'm a lighting nerd. I think my dream job would actually to be a Gaffer lol. I really don't want to make this space about gear reviews though. I have been an owner/operator for most of my career, so I might decide to focus on that aspect - the little day in/day out things, nuances and little practices that make that stuff go a little smoother. I know I'd want to read about that stuff if I were on the other side of this. Behind the scenes stuff would be great also if I can remember to take enough stills on the shoot day (I'm not very good at remembering to do that!).
